Former Shakers left back Tom Kennedy has returned to the JD Stadium on loan from Rochdale, with a view to a permanent move.
Tom started his Football League career with the Shakers as a product of the successful Shakers Youth system before forcing his way into the first team with a debut at Mansfield Town in 2003. Before leaving Bury in 2007, he made over 150 appearances and scored 7 goals.
He joined Rochdale for a three year spell before spending the next five seasons in the Championship with Leicester City, Peterborough United and Barnsley.
Tom returns to the JD Stadium with a wealth of experience at Championship level with over 432 games behind him and that experience will be keenly called upon by manager David Flitcroft in the forthcoming games.
Tom has signed until 14 January 2015, with a view to a permanent deal in the near future and will take squad number 33 during his second spell with the Shakers.
Speaking before this morning’s training session, Manager David Flitcroft said: “TK brings a leadership quality and a quality in terms of some of the best passing this league will see. He will defend that left back slot. He’s a character that, at times away from home, we have been missing and he adds value to the squad. He’s the ultimate professional and is desperate to play. He’s a fantastic signing for us and, as a left sided player; he will balance the squad out and add competition for places.”
