By, George! An Evening Of Comedy And Curry

Bury Football Club Community Trust are holding a Comedy & Curry Evening on Thursday 23rd April to raise funds to help maintain the Disabled Supporters Club minibus.

We have lined up a fantastic selection of comedians for the evening, and East z East are providing the curry – it is shaping up to be an amazing event for a great local cause!

Headliner Rob Rouse - Rob Rouse got his first break in comedy by winning the “So You Think You're Funny?” new act competition in 1998. As well as stand-up, he also performed as part of the Big And Daft trio with Ian Boldsworth and Jon Williams from 1997 to 2002, taking three shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2002 he took his first solo show to the Fringe, and returned the following year.

His TV credits include presenting the first series of The Friday Night Project on Channel 4, the C4 sketch show Spoons, and playing Mike in the first series of the BBC3 sitcom Grown Ups.

Jonny Pelham - Runner-up in both the Chortle Student Comedy Award and So You Think You're Funny in in 2012; third placed in the Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year competition 2013; and nominated for best newcomer in the 2014 Chortle Awards.

Alex Boardman - Alex has performed at numerous comedy festivals around the UK and has performed two one hour shows, the first one entitled "Nappy Mondays" that charted his transition from "Lad to Dad", and the second entitled "Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft" (after another favourite song by The Wedding Present). Again both were received well critically.

And no, he is no relation to Stan Boardman!

Compere Dave Williams - By no means a novice David has performed alongside some of the world's best including Jimeoin, Sean Hughes, Steady Eddy, Julia Morris, Kitty Flanagan & Modern Problems in Science and was asked to support Michael Buble on his last Australian tour. With over ten years in the business Dave has established himself as one of Australia's most sought after headline acts. Dave is a veteran of Fringe and comedy Festivals both here and abroad, having starred in one-man shows as well as ensemble shows.
