Match Preview: Swindon Town

14 August 2015

A look at Bury and Swindon Town ahead of their clash at Gigg Lane tomorrow.

The Shakers will be making their first appearance of 2015-16 season at Gigg Lane tomorrow, as they take on SwindonTown in League One, kick-off 3pm.

After picking up their first win of the season after only two games on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup against highly fancied Wigan Athletic, Bury will be looking to carry that winning mentality into the League starting against the Robins tomorrow afternoon.

A number of First Team players helped the under-18s side lift the Lancashire Senior Cup on Wednesday, and a number of them are expected to make an appearance.

Manager David Flitcroft will be expecting his side to carry on the free-flowing attacking football which they showed glimpses of in their two previous games against Doncaster Rovers and Wigan, while looking to keep their first clean sheet of the campaign.

After scoring two goals on Tuesday night and a bizarre goal at Doncaster Rovers, Leon Clarke will make it four out of three with a goal tomorrow, which would be a fantastic start for the striker that struggled to find form after a big move to Wolves in 2014.

Bury will still be without Ryan Lowe who has spent the week with the Football Association’s medical staff at their St George’s Park facilities to help with his rehabilitation. Danny Nardiello and Craig Jones are also not quite ready for selection with niggles.

Swindon Town started their season off with an emphatic 4-1 win over Bradford City, however on Tuesday night they lost to Sky Bet League Two side Exeter City in the Capital One Cup.

The Robins will be without striker Jermaine Hylton who is set to miss eight weeks with an injured collarbone.
