The under-18s got their title defence off to great start at the Wham Stadium on Saturday.Bury Youth Team started as they meant to go on, during their first game of season against Accrington Stanley in a hard fought 2-1 win.
The Young Shakers started the game off brilliantly, with George Miller riffling a shot into the top corner of the net in the 3rd minute after he latched onto a defence cutting pass by Rob Bourne.
The Youngsters went down to ten-man not long after their opener, when defender Matty Foulds clipped the heels of an Accrington Stanley striker as he went through on goal.
Accrington then managed an equaliser with a well worked goal in the 14th minute. However, the Young Shakers battled hard, and in the 30th minute Rob Bourne got Bury's winner with a well executed free-kick from 20-yards out.
