David Flitcroft has questioned the fixtures list after another long distance weekday match
Ahead of tonight’s game away at Stevenage, the Shakers manager David Flitcroft has spoken out about is feelings towards the way the fixtures list is put together.
He feels it’s more than unfair that fans will have to travel over 3 and a half hours to Stevenage on a Tuesday night for a 7.45pm kick off meaning they’ll be back after midnight.
After the match against Exeter City on Saturday, Flitcroft said: “It’s mad on the fans! We travel down in a top class coach, we have food on the coach to save money, we’re fine doing it.
“The fans on the other hand will have to take a day or half and a day off work to get down and probably get stuck in traffic on the way.
“I’ve always wondered if the fixture planners think about fans when they set-up the fixtures, it seems crazy. It’s the third one this season as well.
“The Christmas period was unkind to the football club and the fans too. It’s one of them isn’t it, we can’t do anything about it, and you just have to hope that the powers that be get it right.”
