A preview of Bury U18s match against Accrington Stanley
Bury U18s take on Accrington Stanley tomorrow at the Store First Stadium, kick-off 11am.
The Shakers will be looking to keep their place at the top of the table against a side that will put up a tough test.
Talking ahead of the match, Youth Manager, Ryan Kidd said: “It’s going to be another tough game. They’ve had a change of manager part way through the season, and I think there last few results have been very positive including a good 3-3 draw against Burnley last week.
“It’s like anybody, if you’re not at your game you’re going to get beat, but we’re in a good vein of form at the moment.
“We’re unbeaten in 7 games; we came up against a tough encounter last week which helped us see a different side of the game.
“Added bonus tomorrow we’re going to play on a good pitch, playing on Accrington’s first team pitch so we should get a good game of football.
“But we have to keep improving and continue to play good stuff and believe in what we’re doing to keep getting better as a group.”
Kidd has stated that although they have a couple of injuries they picked up last week, they will go into the game with relatively strong squad to pick from.
He said: “The team looks pretty strong; we’ve obviously got a couple of casualties from last week with Jake Durham and Rowan Kimmins missing out due to ankle problems that will keep them out for 4-6 weeks.
“It’s a shame especially for Rowan because he’s had to wait a while to get in the team and then the tackle wasn’t a great tackle and he’ll be out for 4-6 weeks but that’s a part of football.
“Both lads can probably do a lot of work in the gym now to build themselves up which will keep them busy.”
