The Academy staff have taken advantage of the schools half term by giving our Academy players the chance to ‘Train Like A Pro'...
The Under 9 – Under 15 players have been reporting in for morning training sessions, coming back to the JD Stadium to eat lunch together before heading back out for more coaching.
The week has so far also included classroom workshops, video analysis sessions and football tennis competitions all delivered by the club’s youth staff.
The programme is designed to give a taster to our young stars of the future of what life is like as a professional footballer and has been a great success so far.
We have also been pleased to welcome back in to the building, Connor Denton, one of our Under 9 players who has been out of action for several weeks after being knocked down by a car. Connor received a warm welcome from his team mates and we all hope to see him back out on the pitch soon. Connor's proud father said 'the hospital had told him as soon as he could walk with crutches he could come home' Connor responded with 'right, where are those crutches!!'.
It was great to see Connor back at the Club, and we wish Connor a speedy full recovery.
