Director of Youth Ian Kendall on the move to Carrington

Speaking this afternoon, Director of Youth Ian Kendall spoke of his delight regarding the clubs capture of the Carrington training complex on a five year lease from Manchester City.

“The move to Carrington for the Youth team and Academy is a dream come true.” Said Mr. Kendall.  “Everyone involved with the youth setup and the academy will be amazed by the facilities at the training center; the pitches, the gym, the physio and rehabilitation equipment, the changing rooms and just the entire make up and lay out of the place makes it the inspirational setting we have been looking for our young players to learn their craft.

The JD Stadium is buzzing with excitement, and with the extraordinary way in which the Chairman has managed to fend off other interested parties (including premiership clubs) to secure the facility for at least the next 5 years.

Looking forward to the start of a new era for the Shakers, Ian went onto say:  “Our youth will now have the very best of what they need to ensure they have every opportunity to progress into the world of professional football.

Expectations have been raised for all of us, the first team, the youth team and all academy players. We will truly be a unit as Bury FC, at Carrington, where the youth and first team players and management will be able train and work side by side.

This genuinely confirms the vision of the Chairman that the youth of this club is its’ future, and that the Club has its’ sights on promotion….the only way is up!

This move to Carrington is a fantastic opportunity for the youth to continue in their quest to be the best team there is, and individually, to be the best they can be. For further updates please refer to the youth web. Site at www.buryfcacademy.co.uk
