Youth: Bury v Tranmere Rovers

23 January 2015

Bury FC youth team play Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.

Bury FC youth team face Tranmere Rovers in the Youth Alliance League in what will be another tough match which sees top of the table Bury face fourth placed Tranmere.

The Shakers will go into the match looking to retain the top spot against a team which manager Ryan Kidd believes will put up a hard game for the youngsters.

Kidd said: “They are a very good team, they have high energy. They have power and pace up the top, they are strong defensively and they play a decent brand of football, so it will be a tough game.

“A big advantage for us will be that they have a decent pitch to play on which will suit us, but we’re in good form at the moment so I expect a tough encounter.”

Speaking to Ryan ahead of the match he said that there is a feeling of excitement around the team after they went top of the table last Saturday.

He however admits that he is happier that a number of players are now being noticed by David Flitcroft and the first team set-up.

He said: “The main thing for me is that the lads train with the first team every day. That’s pleasing for me as we have four or five going to train with the first team, we have had three or four already on the bench, so I get more satisfaction out of that than I do being top of the league.”
