Bury’s Youth Team are a week away from their exciting trip to Holland, which has been set-up in association with the League Football Education (LFE).
Speaking ahead of the trip, Ryan Kidd said: “They are really looking forward to Holland, with only a week to go we are starting to prepare ourselves for the trip.
“We’ve got a number of exciting games out there including two Dutch Premier League sides in Vitesse Arnhem (U19s) and Willem II (U17s), as well as second tier German side VFL Bochum (U17s).
“We’ll be training at fantastic facilities and everything is planned so it’s going to be an amazing two weeks.
“Most importantly though, it will give us a better chance to get to know the first years, and give the lads a better chance to bond together and have quality time together.”
In warm-up to the trip, the players with help from coaching staff Jamie Hesketh, Ryan Kidd, Alex Owen and Mark Litherland, took part in a quiz about all aspects of Holland.
This was used as a fun way for the players to find more out about the country they are going to play football in for 2 weeks commencing Monday 27th July.
The lads were split up into four teams, with the four coaches set as captains.
Ryan Kidd and his team emerged as winners by a couple of points. It was a close run thing (well it was if you don’t count Jamie!!).
