Match Report: Bury 2 Radcliffe Borough 2

25 July 2015

Bury Youth Team led by Manager Ryan Kidd, were held to a 2-2 draw by a determined Radcliffe Borough side on a sunny afternoon, in the Shakers’ annual trip to Stainton Park.

The Shakers started well looking very comfortable on the ball while enjoying the majority of possession.

Striker George Miller looked a handful throughout the game, with his energy and desire to chase down every ball getting him into some good positions.

Millers first chance came in the fourth minute, when a cross from a youth Trialist found the striker in the box, however under pressure from Boro’s physical defence, he only managed to get a slight touch on it which went wide.

Midfielder Scott Burgess who recently graduated from the youth set-up was another player that impressed throughout the game, showing why he is so highly rated within the first-team set-up.

Miller and Burgess linked up early on in the game when Miller, found Burgess in space outside the box whose low shot went agonisingly wide.

The Trialist keeper for Bury made two very important saves in a matter of seconds showing off his brilliant reactions.

First year Scholar Liam Williams, got the Shakers level on the stroke of half time, converting a floating corner by Brayden Shaw straight past Chris Cheetham in the Radcliffe net.
