Danny Nardiello puts pen to paper on new deal
Striker Danny Nardiello has put pen to paper on the contract extension offered to him at the end of last season.
The 32 year old joined the Shakers in November 2013 for a second spell and has led the clubs goal scoring charts for the last two seasons, including his first spell on loan in 2009, Danny has made 71 appearances and has scored 29 goals.
Speaking to Shakers PlayerHD following Friday’s 1-1 draw with Morecambe, manager David Flitcroft confirmed the contract had been signed by saying: -
“I’m delighted to have captured his services. The deal was offered to him at the end of last season but he did have quite a few good options, as you would expect being the striker he is and with the goals he has scored.
Whilst he was stalling on his contract we went out and got two really good top line strikers into the club and he is now one of the six strikers that we have at the football club that will try and fight his way into the team. He is part of the squad and he knows that.
Unfortunately for him he has tweaked an old back injury in training, he’s had a scan on the injury and will be getting an injection later in the week that will hopefully rectify the problem.”
