New signing, Peter Clarke, is hoping to progress with the club over the next couple of years.
After becoming the first Shakers signing of the summer, Peter Clarke has been training with the squad for the first time over the past week.
The 33 year old Central Defender did his first interview since signing for the club recently and admitted that the main reason he signed for the Shakers was the ambition everyone at the club has to progress.
Speaking to Shakers PlayerHD, Peter said: “I met the Chairman, the Gaffer and the coaching staff here, and they were really infectious in their belief of the club and the way they want to work.
“They are hardworking and thorough gentlemen who want to make themselves, the club and the players here better, which really appealed to me.
“It’s a club that’s very stable, and on the up as well as wanting to progress and as players like in any line of work we want to be the best we can be.
“I’m no different, and I want to play at the highest level I can and I can see that being attained here over the next couple of years.”
Peter Clarke has stated that he doesn’t want to set himself a target for the coming season, instead he wants to concentrate on being the best he can for the team.
He explained: “As a player I don’t tend to set targets, I just aim to be the best I can be every time I step out onto the pitch.
“Hopefully I can find a good level of consistency throughout the season and help make others around me and be the best I can be for the team.”
