Preview: U18s v PNE

6 March 2015

Bury's youth team face Preston North End tomorrow in the North West Youth Alliance.

Burys under 18s will be looking to put distance between themselves and the rest of the promotion chasing pack with a good performance away at Preston North End on Saturday, kick off 10.30am.

A win or a draw will take the Shakers up to an astounding 12 games unbeaten in the league, and will keep them in the driving seat for the league title.

However, Preston North End will put up a tough test for the youngsters, with a side that currently sit fifth in the North West Youth Alliance and have a strong physical presence.

Speaking ahead of the match, under-18s coach Ryan Kidd said: “They are quite a physical team, with a number of dominant players in terms of size.

“They play quite a direct style, by getting the ball forward and playing from there. It’s good to play different styles so the lads can learn to combat against it.

“It will also give us the chance to really put our onus on the game and play the way we want to play. I think it’s going to be an interesting duel; it’s a good footballing team against a very strong, physical side.”

The match will be played at Chorley FC’s Victory Park, Duke Street, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 3DU.
