Unique signed print from 2010/11 Promotion season up for auction
This summer, Bury FC Community Trust held its first ever disability art camp. The Trust, in partnership with Pippins Design Company, brought children with disabilities from across the borough to the JD stadium to undertake a huge art project. The children on this project came from a mixture of the two local special education needs schools, where we undertake a lot of our community projects, and also from the participants who also participate in our sports and holiday club provision.
Over the week the children painted 12 canvases using a painting by numbers system. As the week progressed, the children’s painting skills improved greatly, with them developing from painting large areas to intricate details. The week was rounded off by a player visit from the players and manager himself who all loved the paintings. The money raised from these canvases will be put back into providing more activities for children with disabilities in the local area by further sustaining the Trust own Inclusion Department.
The first painting in the series is of the League Two runners-up trophy being held aloft during the parade in the town centre. It has been signed by the current squad and manager and is now available for bids over on our eBay store (here), with a reserve price of £500. Happy bidding!
