York City v Bury Preview

17 March 2015

A preview of York City v Bury...

After getting back to winning ways on Saturday with a solid display at Mansfield Town, the Shakers are looking to continue the run with 3 points away at York City this evening. A win at York could take Bury to 4th position in Sky Bet League 2, as Southend United who currently sit in 4th, face league leaders Burton Albion on Wednesday evening.

York City go into the game having won just 2 of their last 10 Sky Bet League 2 outings, and with a poor run of form in recent weeks, they are one of the sides caught up in the league’s relegation battle.

Bury will be without Danny Rose, who remains out of action with a calf injury that he picked up in training last week. Rose’s strike partner and Bury’s leading goal scorer, Danny Nardiello, is also a doubt ahead of the game. Adam El-Abd is back in contention after missing out on Saturday due to suspension.

Bury’s squad is further strengthened with the addition of striker Tom Eaves, who signed for the club on Friday, until the end of the season. The Gaffer noted in his post-match interview on Saturday that ‘Tom gives us something a little different, something that we’ve not had.’

Luke Summerfield could make a return to the York City side after taking part in his first full training session on Monday morning. York will be without Mal Benning after being recalled by Walsall. Manager, Russ Wilcox reported no other problems in the squad, apart from long-term absentee Wes Fletcher.
