Keeper Paddy Kenny signs a short term deal and returns to Gigg Lane
Paddy Kenny has returned to Gigg Lane some 17 years since he first arrived as a fresh faced 20-year-old novice keeper from Bradford Park Avenue. A Shakers during the clubs double promotion at the back end of last century, Paddy made a total of 150 appearances before he left to link up with former manager Neil Warnock at Bramall Lane.
Other clubs to have secured Paddy’s services, across all four divisions over the last 17 years include Queens Park Rangers, Leeds United, Bolton Wanderers, Oldham Athletic and Ipswich Town.
His first ever league game in August 1999 saw him take on Gillingham at Gigg Lane. Bury won the game 2-1 and it is perhaps ironic that his second Shakers debut could again be against Gillingham.
Due to the fact that both keepers – Daniel Bachmann and John Ruddy have been called up for International squads (Austria and Scotland), the club needed to sign another keeper to cover.
Paddy comes back to Bury with a wealth of experience at every level of the English game after making 636 appearances.
Paddy will take squad number 21 during his time with the club and has been sponsored by the Clubs new partners ‘the Recruitment Crowd’.
Welcome back Paddy
