Danny Mayor extends his deal at Gigg Lane
Bury Football Club are delighted to announce that Danny Mayor has signed a contract extension with the Club that will see him remain a Shaker until 30 June 2019.
Danny joined the Club on a season long loan in 2013 from Sheffield Wednesday and capped a stunning first season with the Club by not only being named the Players’ Player of the Season, but by also signing a three year deal with Bury at the end of that season.
His second season at Gigg Lane brought national acclaim when he was named as the Sky Bet League Two player of the season and since joining Bury has gone on to make 105 appearances – scoring 16 goals.
Danny stands to celebrate his contract extension by making his 200th career appearance, if selected, at Colchester United on Saturday.
Speaking this morning, Chairman Stewart Day said:-
‘Danny is an integral part of our squad and is a massive part of the future of Bury Football Club, as well as his own ambition. Capturing his signature for a further three years shows the ambition we have as a Club and we are delighted to secure his services. Danny feels he has a home with us and we are only too happy for him to continue helping us push the Club forward.’
