SLO Information: Shrewsbury Town

23 October 2015

Bury's Supporter Liaison Officer gives you helpful information for each away match this season.

Ahead of the journey to Shrewsbury Town tomorrow afternoon, we have compiled some useful information for our supporters making the trip.

Bury: Are there any known traffic issues en route to the Stadium?

Shrewsbury: There are some roadworks currently being undertaken on Oteley Road, which is the main road where the stadium is situated, we managed for our last Saturday home game to get them suspended and removed and we are trying for the same to happen on Saturday when Bury are the visitors.

Bury: Is car parking available for Bury fans?

Shrewsbury: With regret we don’t offer visiting supporters car parking at the stadium, the nearest car parking is at the Brooklands Pub and Pritchards Car hire (opposite the Brooklands and behind the BP garage) I believe they charge £5 per car.

Bury: Is there Blue Badge parking available for Bury fans?

Shrewsbury: We offer 6 spaces for disabled supporters, these are available from Bury FC free of charge, if these have all been allocated, blue badge holders can purchase car parking from STFC for £10 per car.

Bury: Please give details of pre-match venue for Bury fans (on-site bar, away fan friendly pubs etc)

Shrewsbury: Unfortunately, we do not have a supporters bar on site, the closest away fan friendly pubs are the Brooklands and the Charles Darwin.

Bury: Where is the nearest cash machine to the Stadium?

Shrewsbury: Sainsbury’s which is approx. 10 minutes away from the stadium

Bury: What is the approximate distance from the train station to the Stadium?

Shrewsbury: Just over 2 miles

Bury: What food and drink is available in the concourse at the Stadium? (Please attach image if applicable)

Shrewsbury: We offer the usual range of pies (£3), sausage rolls (£2), pasties (£2.50), burgers (£3), hot dogs (£3), crisps (£1.20) and chocolate, as well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Bovril. We currently sell bottles of Carling and Magners in the away end and for Saturday’s game with Bury we are piloting a pop up bar serving Shropshire Lad which is a local bitter made by Wood’s Brewery.

Bury: What is the postcode for SatNav users?

Shrewsbury: SY2 6ST
