The Youth Team went 6 points closer to reclaiming the North West Youth Alliance title with wins over Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley this week.
Bury under-18s are now on joint points with top of the League Wigan Athletic after two fantastic wins on Saturday morning and Tuesday afternoon against Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley.
The Shakers beat Carlisle in an emphatic 6-3 comeback after being 3-1 down in the first half before fighting back to go in at half-time tied at 3-3. Three more goals in the second half ensured that the under-18s would move above second placed Walsall in the League.
They then improved their position in the League even more on Tuesday afternoon with a 2-1 win over a battling Accrington Stanley side, the Shakers went in at half time 2-0 up and fully in control, however Stanley got a goal back and the Bury Youngsters had to put on a dominant defensive display to get the three points.
Youth Manager Ryan Kidd and his coaching staff are due a lot of credit for creating a winning formula for the second year in a row with a team of only 13 players available for the majority of the season. This is due to Jack Ruddy, George Miller, Khalid Mohamed and Matty Foulds all becoming regulars in the first team's match day squad, in fact Foulds impressed enough to be signed by Premier League side Everton during the January transfer window.
The young Shakers have a tough month ahead of them with 6 games from now until the end of April, two of these being against their title rivals Walsall and Wigan Athletic.
Last week's postponed away game against Blackpool will now be played at Carrington Training Complex on Tuesday 19th April, 12 noon kick-off .
