Bury FC says NO to the Hooligan element

18 August 2016

Statement from the board of directors ref Hooligan element

Bury Football Club has always been proud of its family values and, as such, have tried to work with the different elements of the fan base to eradicate any and all of the unacceptable behaviour that has slowly crept into a small sector of the fans both home and away.
We have now agreed, as a board, to take a firm stance before the issue escalates any further and the good name and reputation of Bury Football Club gets tarnished any further. With this in mind we will have no hesitation to issue banning orders in co-operation with the Police.
This is something we did not want to do as this could affect a young persons future career if this appears on public records. However, we feel there is no other option or alternative and we want to protect the good name of Bury FC.
The new systems will be in place from the home game against Oldham Athletic and will continue to be in place for the immediate future.
Bury Football Club wants to thank its loyal fan base and ask for your support in this matter.
The Board of Directors.
