Jacob Bedeau wins Player of the Month Award for November 2016.
Our Player of the Month for November is first year scholar, 16 year old, Jacob Bedeau. The award has been chosen by Mark Litherland, Ryan Kidd, and the rest of the youth team staff for his successful month.
In November, Jacob had 6 bench appearances for the First Team, of which his last one against Millwall on the 26th November at Gigg Lane, he made his debut. However, success hasn’t stopped there for him, last weekend away at Bristol Rovers, Jacob had his first ever League One start. At only age 16, this is a massive achievement. The coaching staff couldn’t be more proud of the fantastic, 90 minute performance from Jacob.
The staff and players are really pleased with the hard work and effort that Jacob has put in over the past 6 weeks. Jacob has put every effort into his training, and his performances have reflected this.
“We couldn’t be happier for Jacob; he’s done really well over the past month and is miles ahead of his planned development. For him to make his first team debut and a League One start in the space of 3 weeks really reflects how hard he has worked and how well he has coped playing at that level of football. He’s not looked out of place once on the pitch and has really gone above and beyond what has been asked of him. From me and all the staff at Bury FC, well done Jacob, it’s very well deserved”.
“I would like to thank Mark, Ryan and the Youth Team staff for choosing me for this award. I would also like to thank them for the continued support and guidance as well as my fellow scholars, from the start of my scholarship here at Bury FC. Right now, I’m enjoying my football, and working hard in training to be the best that I can. The support and leadership from the first team players has also made settling into the squad a lot easier. I am going to continue to work hard and push on throughout the rest of the season.”
Jacob will be accepting his Player of the Month award at this Saturday’s game against Oxford United at Gigg Lane, 3pm kick off.
