George Miller and Scott Burgess signs contract extension with the Shakers

Bury Football Club are delighted to announce that George Miller and Scott Burgess, who are are both products of the Shakers Youth team, have both extended their current contracts for a further two years.

George has adapted quickly to the First team and will soon be making his full debut for the club.  In total, George has made eight appearances, thus far, in his fledgling career and has been tipped to have a very good career ahead of him.

Speaking of George, Shakers Head Coach Chris Brass said: “George has done brilliantly and is another young player who has stepped forward, when needed, by coming off the bench to score goals for us.  It’s fantastic for everyone that he has made an impact for us when we have needed it.

George has put in the hard miles and knows that he needs to do that to keep progressing and he is bang on track to where we want him to be and he has the same kind of raw talent that you see with players such as Jamie Vardy.”

Scott Burgess, who scored his first senior goal last weekend at Bristol Rovers, has recently got into the first team starting eleven and shows no signs of letting the shirt go after several assured and confident performances.  Scott has stepped up the tempo since returning from a successful loan spell, with Bergsoy IL, in Norway over the summer months.

Speaking of Scott, Shakers Head Coach Chris Brass said: “Scott is a young man who has grown up over the last 12 months and is now finding himself.  He is now at that age where he does understand what it takes, as well as understanding the bits that he still needs to work on in order to move forward.

“He has progressed fantastically well since coming through the Youth ranks and always gives us the level of performance needed. He has performed at a high level since breaking into the first team and he has committed to the training and his career path.  I’m delighted to have both players boxed off for the future as Bury FC Players.”

Congratulations to both George and Scott from everyone at Gigg Lane!
