Youth Player of the Month Award

13 December 2016

Bury FC launch their Youth Player of the Month Award!

Over the past three years, the Bury FC Academy and Youth department have become a high quality, recognised footballing powerhouse. The coaches have worked extremely hard together to produce players who have signed professional contracts for Bury’s first team in League One, Wolves in the Championship and Everton in the Premier League.

However, it’s not only the coaching staff who have been working hard to build such well-recognised departments. The effort and commitment from the players has played equal parts in Under 15’s playing up for the Youth Team, and the Youth Team scholars making debuts for the First Team, even at the young age of 15.

Therefore, as a Club, we believe that this effort needs rewarding. Every month from now we will be awarding a scholar with a ‘Player of the Month’ award. The player will be selected by Mark Litherland, Ryan Kidd and the Youth Team staff. They will reward the player who they believe has worked the hardest, committed the most, kept up quality, consistent performances, and achieved more than what is expected of them. The player will accept the award at the first home game of each month, being Player of the Month for the month previous.

We hope this will help build confidence in our scholars, whilst also building them a professional player profile to support them in their future professional playing career.

Our Player of the Month for November will be announced tomorrow, Wednesday 14th December 2016
