Bury FC Aces Success

9 February 2016

The Football College student Raffi Rubens opens his account for Bury FC Aces.

On Monday 18thJanuary, Bury FC Aces played an Ability Counts friendly match against Maccabi. Bury FC Aces won the game 7-1 and played some great football with The Football College student Raffi Rubens scoring his first ever goal for the club with a calm side footed effort into the bottom corner.

Ability Counts is a football programme led by the FA where they have a number of leagues for people with disabilities to play in so that they can play football competitively for a team. There are two open age leagues, one for the main teams and the other for the development teams, Raffi plays in the main team in the Open Age Championship.

Raffi has been on the fringes of the first team, but this great performance will surely cement his place up front for the Ability Counts first team.

After his first goal Raffi was hungry for more and ended up scoring again in the second half. This was without a doubt Raffi's best performance of the year and hopefully he will continue to grow into a crucial first team player for the Ability Counts Team.
