Midfielder Kelvin Etuhu has been handed a fast track to recovery according to David Flitcroft.
Shakers midfielder Kelvin Etuhu picked up an injury that was deemed to keep him out for around 3-4 weeks. However, he might now be back sooner than first thought.
He has worked hard to get back in shape to help the Shakers turn their recent dip in form around, and David Flitrcroft believes there is a chance that Etuhu may be available for Saturday’s game away at Coventry City whether that be on the bench or in the starting eleven.
Speaking ahead of the Coventry City match David Flitcroft said: “Kelvin (Etuhu) is a loss, we’ll hopefully have him in and around the squad for Saturday.
“We’ll have to see how he does today (Thursday) and tomorrow, so that’s something we are monitoring really closely.”
Flitcroft has also given us an update on the two contracted goalkeepers at the club; Jack Ruddy and Rob Lainton, who are both returning from injuries.
He explained: “Rob (Lainton) saw the specialist on Wednesday, we will have the report from that later this afternoon, so we’ll know a bit more about him then, and know where he’s up to.
“Jack Ruddy has been training, he has had a full week in training and he’s been playing the games and started getting more handling work, but while Jack’s been off we’ve been doing quite a bit of work with his feet so it’s not as if he’s been shut down.
“He’s been able to work with his possession and work at his passing, so that’s something that has been a positive.”
