Injury Update - 25/02/2016

25 February 2016

The Gaffer gives us an update on injuries on a number of players at the Club.

Bury Manager David Flitcroft has this morning given us an update on the injury situation at the Club, with a number of players currently out of first team action.

Here are the current situations regarding seven players in the squad: -

Danny Rose: “(Danny) Rose will be out training this morning (Thursday) and we’ll be hoping he can get through it, but we don’t know if he will. We’ll probably have to have it where there is no contact on him today, because it is quite tentative in the injury sight.”

Nathan Cameron: “We have an assessment, he’s had a MRI scan so we need to speak to the surgeon today and find out the result of that scan that he’s had on his knee. We’ll know more about that this afternoon.”

Kelvin Etuhu: “Kelvin will probably do a week of work with Tom Walsh (Fitness Coach) and Nick Meace (Physio) now on his own, away from the squad. So he’ll probably be a good ten days away.

“I don’t want a re-occurrence of his injury, it has been a stop start season for Kelvin and we need to make sure he is over the injury before he is considered again.”

Leon Clark: “Leon has still got that swelling in his thigh area, his quad is still swelled up so we are trying to get that out. I don’t think he will be available for Saturday, so that’s a bit of a miss.

“We might have Nathan Cameron out as well, so that's two very influential players for us who might be out, but certainly the players who have come in for them have been fantastic.”

Rob Lainton: “He’s getting closer, luckily Jack (Ruddy) has come back, but Rob is getting closer now we’ve identified the problem. However, we’ve been at this place before where I thought I’d have him and we’ve had a setback, so that’s something we’ve got to look at.”

Ryan Lowe: “Ryan has been seeing a specialist and they’ve found that he had some build up in his calf from Tuesday night, they’ve released that and he will be available for Saturday depending on how the next two days of training go.”
