Man City keeper Ian Lawlor arrives at Carrington
Dublin born keeper Ian Lawlor has arrived at Carrington after putting pen to paper on loan deal until the end of the season with the Shakers.
The 21 year old has been recalled from a loan spell at Sky Bet League Two side Barnet in order to link up with the Shakers. Whilst with the Bee’s, Ian played five games on a month’s loan at the Hive Stadium.
A regular for Manchester City’s development squad last season, Ian also had a loan spell at Scunthorpe United
Ian arrived in Manchester in 2010 after joining from Dublin side Home Farm FC, a side that can boast a glittering CV of now premier league players.
He took part in Man City’s first team squad for a pre-season tour of Austria and had been challenging for the U21 keepers position at the Etihad before joining Barnet on loan.
Manager David Flitcroft welcomed Ian to the Shakers by saying: “We have monitored Ian’s progress since he signed for Manchester City and have been impressed with his form in development games and respective loans. We are delighted to secure Ian to the end of the Season and he will add great competition with Rob Lainton for the number 1 jersey.”
Ian will be with the club until the end of the current season and will take squad number 1
