Match Preview: Crewe Alexandra (H)

26 January 2016

The Shakers host Crewe Alexandra tonight looking for their third win in a row against the struggling Cheshire side.

January in Sky Bet League One, looking to build on the two wins they picked up last week against Oldham Athletic in the League and Bradford City in the FA Cup.thBury face Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday 26

The Shakers went through a tough patch over the Christmas period especially away from home, however with the squad sticking together and showing grit and determination they have seemingly turned that around in the past week and will look to push on from here.

The Shakers home form has been inconsistent as of late, however they have only played three home games in two months which won’t have helped to get a momentum going in front of their own fans after some disappointing away results, but with two away wins under their belts they will come back to Gigg Lane tonight swimming in confidence.

Crewe Alexandra on the other hand have had a tough season having only won four games all campaign and currently prop up the table in 24th place, as well as currently being without a win since that start of November.

However, no game is easy and the Railwaymen will be looking to turn their fortunes around at Gigg Lane especially as a win could move them off the bottom spot.

David Flitcroft will be buoyed by the return of Captain Nathan Cameron who will return from suspension for tonight’s game, however he may struggle to get back into the side after the defensive duo of Reece Brown and Peter Clarke who have kept two clean-sheets in the past two 90 minutes.

Flitcroft will also have Danny Rose and Craig Jones back in contention for a starting place with both players coming off the bench on Saturday against Oldham, after they were ruled out of Tuesday’s FA Cup clash against Bradford City.

Crewe Manager Steve Davis will be without midfielder Billy Bingham after he picked up a minor hamstring injury against Wigan on Saturday, his midfielder partner James Jones is doubtful after taking a knock to the leg during the same game.

Crewe Captain Harry Davis, Midfielder Ryan Wintle, defender George Ray and striker Lauri Dalla Valle all remain sidelined.
