Striker Leah Tibbott (pictured with Manager Paul Iannaccone) joins us from Manchester City Women.
Leah started her footballing career at Stockport County before being scouted by Manchester City and signed for the blues aged 15. Leah then went on to play two seasons for the U17s academy team, and also made three appearances for the Senior Development Squad. After leaving Man City, Leah had her choice of big clubs, with Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City and AFC Fylde Ladies all showing interest, however opted for Bury after training with the first team and meeting the players and staff.
On her move to Bury, Leah said ' I'm excited to be joining Bury because I am happy to be playing first team football which is the direction I want to go in. They seem to be a really ambitious club with good players and amazing coaches and I hope to help them achieve their goal whilst developing as a player'.
Ladies First Team Manager Paul Iannaccone added 'Leah is a fantastic coup for this club and hopefully one of many exciting new signings. We are making huge progressions both on and off the field and we want to be challenging at the top end of the league next season. Leah will only help us towards that goal and we are delighted to have her on board'.
Bury Girls and Ladies First Team play in the North West Women's Regional League Division 1 North, and games are Sunday's at 2pm. All home games are played at Lower Gigg pitch, or Carrington Training Complex, with a selected few home games played on Gigg Lane main pitch. Fixtures will be out later in the summer for what we hope will be a successful 2016/17 season.
Welcome to Bury, Leah!
