Danns has impressed during the Shakers’ pre-season programme and earned himself a two-year deal.
The 33-year-old, was released from Bolton Wanderers at the end of the season. He made over 90 appearances for the Whites after signing from Leicester City on loan in September 2013.
Danns began his football career at The FA's School of Excellence where he signed as a trainee for Blackburn Rovers, aged 16. He went on to have loan spells with Blackpool, Hartlepool United and Colchester United.
He penned a permanent deal with Colchester in 2004. In 2006, Danns played a big part in the side’s promotion to the Championship which resulted in a £500,000 move to Birmingham City. The move paid off, Danns became a regular in the team that won promotion to the Premier League that season.
In January 2008, Danns signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Championship side Crystal Palace, where he managed to establish himself in the Eagles' line-up.
In June 2011, Leicester City came calling, signing Danns on a free transfer for three years. Danns scored his first goal for Leicester on 23rd August in a 4–2 away win against Bury in the League Cup.
Neil joins the Club with a wealth of experience, with 326 League appearances under his belt and 60 goals.
