Former Bradford City youngster signs a two-year deal at Gigg Lane
Bury FC are delighted to reveal Greg Leigh as the latest addition to the Shakers squad ahead of the new EFL Sky Bet League One season.
21-year-old Greg Leigh was snapped up by the Manchester City Academy system in 2004 after being spotted playing for Manchester side Sale United. Progress with Man City eventually saw him join Crewe Alexandra on a three-month loan period during the 2014/15 season.
His impact for the Railwaymen was such that his loan was extended to a full season loan where he went onto make 42 appearances. At the end of that season he returned to the Etihad Stadium, only to find himself released and without a club.
Despite offers from Crewe Alexandra, Greg went to Bradford City, initially on a trial basis, but impressed Phil Parkinson enough to be offered a 12-month deal. A deal that Greg quickly accepted and signed.
After making just nine appearances for the Bantams, Greg was offered a new deal at the end of last season. Shakers manager David Flitcroft pounced and also offered a deal to Greg, which was accepted and the Former England U19 has signed a two/one-year deal with the club.
To date, Greg has made a total of 51 senior appearances, scoring three goals along the way.
