Bury FC are delighted to announce a 3-year kit partnership with European Sports Brand Kappa
Kappa (UK and Ireland) in conjunction with its retail partner Buysportskit Ltd are delighted to announce a 3 year kit sponsorship with Bury FC starting from season 2016/2017.
All kit and training needs will be met by the iconic international Italian sportswear brand, Kappa, who are a true global brand and have produced kits for such European giants as Barcelona, Juventus, Roma and Italian national team to name a few and currently supply Leeds Utd and Wigan Athletic in the domestic Championship.
Dave Bandell Kappa (Team Sport Manager) commented “Kappa are delighted to be associated with Bury F.C who have such a rich history and profile (two FA Cups) and they fit right into the portfolio of the type of club Kappa and Buysportskit wish to be associated with.”
Glenn Thomas, CEO of Bury Football Club stated, “ This is yet another step forward to keep Bury moving in the right direction. By working with James and David we can not only provide quality first team kit but a variety of other branded merchandise and create better on-line facilities, town centre premises and the opportunity for our fans to wear a fashion brand alongside their team crest. This opportunity will offer our fans more than we have ever been able to before and will only grow from this stage.”
Daniel Bowerbank, Business Development Manager of Bury Football Club added, “Following the initial meeting with Dave Bandell (Kappa) and James Milner (Buy Sports Kit) the partnership which we have committed to as a Club is one that will enhance Bury FC’s ever growing brand but will offer another high profile partner as Kappa. As part of the contract with Buy Sports Kit, the retail shop at Gigg Lane will not only be a designated store for Kappa for kit and training range but also for fashion and footwear within the town. This will enable us as a Club to move our retail outlet to the next level and continue to work within the community through being the sole designated grassroots hub within the North West region.”
The structure of the deal is a first for Bury FC with buysportskit.com working alongside Kappa to build a strong retail section of the Club, something the company already do successfully with Kappa on other projects. As suppliers to the London Broncos Rugby League side and several other professional clubs across a range of sports, this unique way of working gives the Club additional retail support as well as a deal with a global sports brand. Community clubs from a variety of sports can, for the first time, benefit from a 'kit and teamwear' section within the Club's shop giving a local point of contact for football, rugby, cricket and netball clubs across the area.
James Milner, National Sales Manager for buysportskit.com was equally pleased with the deal and the potential of the Club and within the Town. "We have been looking for the right club and retail partner for some time now and when the opportunity arose to work with Kappa and Bury FC it quickly became clear that the fit was perfect for developing a strong retail operation in the North West. Bury as a club are steeped in history and we are looking forward to working with a very forward thinking board and management team."
