Wigan claim three points in their title winning game at Rochdale

Wigan Athletic Youth Team have claimed the Youth Alliance Title after beating Rochdale 3-0 at Radcliffe Borough’s Belvoir Stadium.

The young Latics needed to win their final game this morning to overtake the Shakers to claim top spot.

The result now leaves the Youth Team as Youth Alliance runners up.  Whilst all those will feel a little disappointment this afternoon, they should also be extremely proud and pleased of themselves for their accomplishments this season.

With a hand full of their team plucked for first team duties, the youngsters have had a fantastic season. We have to say congratulations to Wigan Athletic, but we also say massive congratulations to our own Youth Team for another successful season.

Speaking in Sundays Programme, Youth Team coach Ryan Kidd said: “I have been in Professional football for a long time, this is the most talented group of young footballers I have ever had and it has been my honour and pleasure to coach these young players, they have been a credit to the club and have boosted the Bury FC profile Nationwide.”

We’ll have a full breakdown of stats for both youth team and first team online on Monday.
