Club Photographer Martin Ogden to bow out after 15 years behind the lens
Club Photographer Martin Ogden has photographed his final game for the club. After some 15 years watching games from behind the lens, Martin will be hanging the camera up whilst his own work commitments and an impending operation take centre stage.
Over the last fifteen years, Martin has provided us with, on average, 500 photos per game. We have over 500,000 photos taking up approx. 1.6 terrabytes of file space from Martin’s camera. His images are used extensively on this website and throughout the programme.
Martin has provided the club with some iconic images over the seasons and perhaps none more so iconic as his shot of Ryan Lowe celebrating his promotion winning goal at Chesterfield in 2011.
Club press officer Gordon Sorfleet said: ‘I’d be absolutely lost without Martins skills behind the lens over the last 15 seasons, he stepped in at just the right time in the websites infancy and we were struggling for regular photos.
Martin will leave a huge void in the media department and he leave some very big shoes to fill. It goes without saying that I’d like to thank Martin for the images, the laughs and the miles we have covered together over the last 15 years. He will be sorely missed by me and everyone at the club.’
Martin has promised though to cover some games when he can next season, work permitting.
