Lancashire FA Youth Cup

28 November 2016

The Youth Team take on Oldham Athletic in the Quarter Finals of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 29th November 2016, the Youth Team meet Oldham Athletic away at Chapel Road in the quarter finals of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup, kick off 12pm.

In the 2014/15 season, the Youth Team didn’t make it past the first round of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup. They took a defeat at home against Blackpool, 3-1; our goal was a penalty by Robert Bourne. Rob is now a First Year professional in our Bury squad.

This season, the Youth played Burnley in the first round back in September, and won 2-1 at home. The first goal hit the back of the net by young scholar Callum Styles. The second one was scored through a penalty by Rob Harker in the last minute of injury time.

The two teams met a few weeks ago in the first round of the FA Youth Cup at SportsDirect.com Park. Our young Shakers took a difficult 2-0 defeat that night, and got knocked out of the FA Youth Cup. Can they come away with a victory tomorrow and make it through to the semi-finals?

Come down and show your support for our Youth Shakers, kick off 12pm.
