The Youth Team face Blackpool tomorrow night in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup Final.
As announced by Ryan Kidd earlier this month in one of his weekly press conferences, Bury’s Under 18’s Team will play the Lancashire FA Youth Cup against Blackpool at Gigg Lane, tomorrow, Tuesday 25th April 2017, kick off 7pm.
The Cup run started with the Youth Team facing Burnley in the first round back in September, and won 2-1 at home. The first goal hit the back of the net by young scholar Callum Styles. The second one was scored through a penalty by Rob Harker in the last minute of injury time.
This put the Youth Team into the second round where they took on Oldham Athletic at Chapel Road. An excellent performance gave them an 3-1 victory with goals from Nathan Turner and Joe Adams.
The Semi-Final was played last month as the Youth made the journey to UCLAN, to face Preston North End. After a goal-less 90 minutes, it was Ryan Kidd’s Under 18’s team who took the victory through penalties by Rob Harker, Callum Hulme, Will Osgathorpe and Will Ferry whilst goalkeeper Cameron McCulloch made two excellent saves to give the Shakers the result they needed to get through to the final.
This is Blackpool’s third time in four years of being in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup Final, after they defeated Rochdale at home 1-0 last month.
Come down to Gigg Lane, support the boys, support the future!
Adult tickets are just £5, with Concessions (Students/Over 65’s/Disabled and Under 23’s) being £2.
