Bury FC appoint Matt Graham as new Women’s Manager

Bury FC Women are delighted to announce Matt Graham as the new First team manager. His previous experience in the Women’s Premier League with Mossley Hill Ladies was a critical factor in this appointment as the board believe this is in line with its own ambitions.

4 August 2017

Matt enjoyed great success at Mossley Hill in which they finished the season in the top half and won the County Cup Trophy. Matt has had the experience of coming up against teams such as; Middlesbrough, Leeds, Newcastle and Blackburn.

Matt is also a tutor for The Football College, which is based in the heart of Bury FC's stadium. In this role, Matt delivers on the BTEC Level 3 Sports Performance and Excellence course, and with the College running a ladies programme this will be a great link between Bury FC Women and the College. Matt can now identify talented females at The Football College and bring them into the Bury FC Women’s setup as part of the College’s successful Player Pathway Programme (PPP).

Chairwoman of Bury FC Women, Diana Golding added:

''I am delighted to have Matt on board. The women's team has gone from strength to strength over the last two seasons and have worked very hard to become the team they are now. Last season saw their determination and commitment rewarded with a third place league finish and a place in the cup final. With Matt's experience and knowledge of women's football we will now be in a position to take the team to the next level.''

Matt Graham added:

“Firstly, I would like to thank Bury FC Women for giving me the opportunity to become their new Manager. I see this as a fantastic chance for both myself and the team to progress this season. I really look forward to working with the girls and seeing what they have to offer. I will use my experience of working with both Men and Women at a higher level, most recently with Mossley Hill in the Women’s Premier League, to create a positive playing environment which will hopefully lead to a rewarding season ahead”

Congratulations to Matt, all the best for the upcoming season!
