Six Weeks for Jay O'Shea

Lee Clark reveals the extent of Jay O’Shea’s knee injury from the Walsall game

9 August 2017

Jay O’Shea was replaced during Saturday's game with Walsall and following a scan on his knee, the results have shown a medial ligament injury.  Manager Lee Clark revealed this news at this morning’s Press Conference ahead of Thursdays game with Sunderland

“I’m afraid it’s the curse of the knee injury, that’s already the main issue for us this season and Jay has suffered a Medial Ligament Sprain, that will keep him out for six weeks.

“It’s a blow for Jay personally because I felt he was doing really well in the game on Saturday.  He made a big impact with the ball and off the ball for us.  For us now, he joins Eoghan O’Connell with his knee injury and Nathan Cameron with his own issues.

“It’s impossible to stop, it’s a contact sport and an impact injury.  We just have to get on with it and hopefully, he will with us in the minimum of time and we can crack on with getting positive results whilst he is out.”
