Defender Reece Brown returns for another spell at Gigg Lane
Defender Reece Brown has returned to Gigg Lane following his release from fellow League One side Sheffield United earlier today.
Reece was released by the club at the end of last season and promptly signed a short-term deal with the Blades, making two appearances during his short time at Bramall Lane.
25-year-old Reece, the younger brother of Wes Brown, began his career at Old Trafford in 2009. Over the next four years he would go onto make 57 appearances for Bradford, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Coventry City, Ipswich Town, Watford and Carlisle – all whilst on loan from Manchester United.
The Red Devils released him from his deal in July 2013 and he signed a permanent deal for Barnsley days later. His spell at Oakwell was a short one though and after just one season and only 14 appearances he was released. Reece first linked up with the Shakers in July 2015, signing a short-term deal following a successful trial period. That deal was extended to the full season and Reece left the club at the end of last season. Reece has, again, signed a short-term deal with the club until the end of the current season
Reece has also represented England at under-19 and under-20 levels, making 15 appearances for his country. Reece has thus far made 104 appearances for 11 clubs. He will take squad number 33 during his time with the Shakers.
