The new fixtures have been released with the Shakers at home against Walsall in the first game of the new season, quickly followed by the Carabao Cup 1st Round game with Sunderland on Thursday 10 August – this game will also be shown live on Sky Sports.
The Shakers’ first game on the road is also one of 12 derby games with Bury making the short trip to Wigan Athletic on Sat 12 August. Bristol Rovers are at Gigg Lane on 19th August before we face Rochdale in the second derby game at Spotland on 26 August.
September will see last season’s Play-Off finalists Scunthorpe and newly promoted Plymouth Argyle coming to Gigg Lane with Oxford United and MK Dons also making the trip to BL9. The Shakers make our first ever trip to Rotherham United’s New York Stadium and Fleetwood Town also during the month of September.
Only two home games during October with Bradford City and Doncaster Rovers visting Gigg Lane, whilst the shakers hit the road with trips to Blackpool and Southend United. November brings an eagerly awaited derby game with Blackburn Rovers whilst trips to Gillingham and Shrewsbury Town bring two further tough games.
The two longest trips of the season to Portsmouth and Plymouth come in December and January with two home games set to take place at Gigg Lane over the festive period.
Three derby games will take place at Gigg Lane from March to April with Oldham, Wigan and Rochdale all visiting Bury. The final home game of the season takes place on 28 April with Portsmouth visiting Bury whilst the final game of the season takes place a week later on Saturday 5 May with Bury making the trip to AFC Wimbledon.
