Callum Styles Wins Player of the Month for the second time this season.
Callum Styles does it again, his second Player of the Month award this season, nominated by Youth Team Manager, Ryan Kidd. When Ryan was asked to nominate for the award this month, he responded with “it’s a no brainer for me, the hard work, self-dedication and commitment that he has put in over the past month, it’s got to be Callum Styles”.
Callum has not stopped improving since his last Player of the Month award, which he won in December 2016. Since then for the First Team, he has had 6 bench appearances and made the starting team 6 times.
Callum also played for the Youth Team on the 4th February, against Carlisle, and helped towards taking the team to 3 points and a 4-3 win.
Callum also put pen to paper this month, as he accepted a two and a half year deal with the Club. At age just 16, he’s signed first ever professional football contract.
Youth Team Manager
Callum hasn’t been around the Youth Team in terms of training and matches, as he’s gone over the fence, and trains regularly with the First Team. However, a few weeks ago, Callum wasn’t making the First Team bench, so we decided to give him some game time, in which he played against Carlisle, putting in an outstanding performance. Since then, he has fought his way back into the First Team starting 11, still at the tender age of 16. Recently starting in two very big games for the Club, away at Charlton and at home against Coventry, where Callum claimed Man of the Match.
I would like to thank Ryan Kidd for the nomination, and also the staff and fans for their continued support. I would also like to personally thank the Chairman for offering me my first professional contract, and keeping his faith in my ability.
I am looking forward to finishing what’s been a fantastic season with a few more appearances and helping the team grab a few more points.
