Bury Football Club can confirm that former Shaker George Miller, has rejoined us on loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
A product of the Shakers' youth system, George quickly rose through the ranks and was soon knocking on the door of the First Team. After several years as the Youth Team’s leading scorer, George made his First Team debut for the club at Barnsley in February 2015 as a half-time substitute.
He would go on to make 32 appearances for Bury, scoring 8 goals. George also became a popular character with both the players and the fans.
George left Bury for Middlesbrough in July 2017. Since joining the Championship side the young striker has been a key player in their Under-23's team, with 13 goals to his name and picking up the Mercedes-Benz Teesside Goal of the Month award for November.
George has also featured in Boro's First Team, coming on as a late substitute in the Carabao Cup against Aston Villa in September.
Ryan Lowe was pleased to secure the signing of Miller saying: “I’ve signed George because he’s a hard-working lad, he’s a talent, he wants to score goals and he wants to improve. We sold him in the summer because he scored plenty of goals for us, we feel he went away to Middlesbrough and improved massively. When I spoke to him he wanted to come and help us in this fight so it was a no-brainer to take him”.
