Bury FC Community Trust are delighted to have secured all required funding to build a brand-new, state-of-the-art 4G pitch at Goshen.
Subject to final feasibility studies, the Trust is now working closely with the Football Foundation, Premier League and the Lancashire FA towards a target date of April 2019 for work to commence.
In 2015, flooding at the site caused three grass pitches and the astro-turf facility to be wiped out, leaving organisations in the community looking elsewhere to play their matches.
After working closely with Bury Council, the grass pitches were back to normal, leaving the artificial pitch as the remaining piece of the jigsaw.
It is hoped the new facility will be ready in time to be used for the 2019/20 season, and all departments across the Trust’s community work will benefit from the project, as well as the borough’s primary schools via the Trust’s strategic partnership with the Bury Junior School Sports Association (BJSSA).
Further information will be released in the coming months.
