Following the results of the second poll, put out to determine whether or not there was a requirement to re-assess the shade of blue used on the chosen kit design, we can confirm that the original kit chosen by the fans will be the home kit worn in the 2018/19 season.
A supporters’ survey had originally picked the 1903 F.A. Cup winning kit – predominantly white in colour with a navy-blue trim – as the winner out of 4 options put forward. As the vote was close, with just 32 separating navy and royal blue, we asked whether we needed to clarify the choice of colour used.
Following 24 hours of voting, the answer was a resounding ‘NO’, with 63% saying we should stick with the original colour selected.
Chief Executive Officer Karl Evans said “I’m aware that to some people querying a secondary poll might seem overkill, but I’ve said since I arrived at the Club that the fans’ voices should be heard, so it was important that the decision was theirs all the way through this process. Unfortunately, you can never please everyone so you go with the majority, and these latest results confirm the original choice made should stay, so that’s what will happen”.
In total, 702 people answered the latest survey, with 263 – or 37% - saying we should offer a straight option between the top 2 kits chosen from the original 4 given.
The remaining 439 voters, equivalent to 63%, said we should continue with the original design and colour chosen.
We can confirm that following the results of the 2 polls, the decision is now final and no further discussion will be held in relation to the home kit for next season.
Our thanks go to everyone who has taken the time to complete the surveys, your opinion counts!
