Bury FC Community Trust are delighted to announce our new Football Development Officer, Lewis Marno!
Lewis has worked for the Trust for the past 2 years and has now taken a step forward in his career by taking on the new role of FDO. After having 2 years’ experience working as a coach within schools sports and inclusion set up, he has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge around both the female and male game. His passion for football and for Bury FC make him the ideal person to help push forward Bury FC Boys and Girls club to the next level. Lewis also works as a Scout for the club’s Academy and can bring to the grassroots set-up the knowledge he has of what can improve and make our grassroots players the best they can be.
Within his new role he will utilise this experience to develop and support all the amazing managers and volunteers at Bury FC Boys and Girls. As part of his work already, he has sorted with Bury FC that players of the grassroots club can have access to the clubs’ fan-zone which is located on site at match days. The children will have access to play on the latest version of FIFA as well as other activities such as table football. Lewis has also started to make a big impact over the past week already putting together some great new ideas on how to improve the grassroots reach through his contacts and previous work within schools in the local area.
Lewis stated “It is a real pleasure to bring in new young Bury fans as well as enhancing the grassroots club to become the pioneering club it can be. I can’t wait to help support all the hard working volunteers to help make our grassroots club the best it can be’’
This amazing start is just a glimpse of what is yet to come from Lewis and we are looking forward to seeing him develop our grassroots set-up! Visit ‘Trust TV’ on YouTube to watch the interview with Lewis on his new role!
