The Club are delighted to announce that young midfielder Joe Adams has been called up for the Wales U19's training camp in Croatia.
Joe will link up with his compatriots as they play a brace of friendlies in Vrbovec and Mladina – both of which are located in the capital of Zagreb.
The call-up is just rewards for Joe, who predominantly plays on the left wing but can use both feet equally as well. He has been with the Bury FC Academy since Under 8 level and has progressed through the age ranks ever since.
He was recently called up by First Team Manager Ryan Lowe for the home clash against Southend United, and has been a prominent part of the success of the Youth Team as they continue to impress with their Cup and League exploits.
This is the next step for Joe in his Wales career, after being part of the Under 17 squad against Scotland in September of last year.
Academy Manager Mark Litherland was full of praise for Joe and told us how much he deserves his call-up: “I’m really, really pleased for Joe. At only 17 years old he has played in the Under 23 squad in the Premier League Cup and played really well. On the back of those performances he’s earnt the opportunity. He has all the attributes to be a very, very good footballer; he can use both feet very well, knows how to beat his man and has fantastic endurance levels. He’s a goal-scoring winger with a great attitude and he’s constantly striving to improve.”
Everyone at Bury Football Club would like to congratulate Joe, and wish all of the Wales squad a safe trip!
