Over the club's long history, only 22 games have been played on 30th October. The first of which was in 1897 and a friendly game with Southport Central at Southport. Bury won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Garside and Millar with just 1,196 supporters watching the game.
A 1909 Division One clash with Newcastle United at Gigg Lane attracted a crowd of 15,000 supporters, but a Tom Kay goal was not enough as the Geordie outfit went onto win the game 2-1.
Rochdale made the short trip to Gigg Lane in 1915 for a North West War League game, where 4,000 supporters witnessed as goals from Billy Hibbert and two from Ingham won the game 3-1.
1926 saw Cardiff City arrive at Gigg Lane for a Division One game. A game that brought 18,000 supporters to the ground where the visitors collected two points with the odd goal in five and a 3-2 win. The Bury goals came from John Ball and Norman Bullock.
A long trip to Norwich in 1937 for a Second Division game with the Canaries brought success for Bury and a 2-1 victory. 14,000 supporters watched on as goals from George Davies and Jack Acquroff win the game.
World War Two brought the North West War League back into operation and a 1943 visit from Southport proved to be a successful day of football for the Shakers. Goals from Revell 3, Carter and Griffiths won the game 5-1 with 2,947 supporters in attendance.
A 1953 friendly game with Austrian side Admira Vienna at Gigg Lane attracted 9,247 supporters, who left the Stadium happy following a Bury 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Peter Tilley (2) and Ken Plant.
Southampton made the long trip North for a Division Two game in 1964, where a crowd of 6,353 supporters enjoyed a thrilling contest and a 3-3 draw. Ernie Yard scored two goals along with an Alec Alston penalty.
A Division Four 1982 clash with Colchester United brought a Bury win thanks to a goal from Stuart Parker in front of 2,653 supporters.
The last recorded game took place in 2010 during the Shakers' promotion season, when they visited Aldershot for a League Two game. An entertaining game saw two Aldershot players sent off, one in each half, and two goals from Mike Jones – plus a third from Nicky Ajose (pictured at the top of the page) to record a 3-1 Bury victory.
