Shakers to Honour Emergency Services and Armed Forces

25 September 2018

Bury Football Club are incredibly proud to announce the introduction of incentives for the Emergency Services and Armed Forces.

Saturday 8th December this year will be 'Blue Light Heroes Day', where all members of our superb Emergency Services will be able to gain free admission to our home game against Exeter City.

The invitation extends to all members of the emergency services, including:

Fire Brigade
NHS Staff
Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Mountain Rescue

Monday 22nd April 2019 will be our 'Armed Forces Day', where current and former military personnel will be able to gain free admission to the game against Northampton Town.

The offer for this game is open to all departments of the British Armed Forces, including:

British Army
Royal Navy
Royal Marines
Royal Air Force

This game has been chosen in accordance with The Fusilier Museum, based in Bury. The following weekend is Gallipoli, and with this in mind this game was deemed to be most appropriate.

Complimentary tickets for these games must be claimed by visiting the Ticket Office and presenting the relevant identification.

Supporter Liaison Officer, Ben Miles, explained: "Members of the Emergency Services and Armed Forces do an exceptional job, often under difficult circumstances.

"Offering a complimentary game to them is really the least we can do, and it gives the football club and it's supporters the opportunity to show their appreciation for all the hard work they put in".

Chief Executive Officer, Karl Evans, added: "As a Club we are delighted to offer a free game for members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services. They are all unsung heroes and we look forward to welcoming them all to the Stadium for their respective games".

We can also announce a permanent discount to all military and emergency services personnel.

Tickets to home league games are discounted by 50% to those providing the required identification. Adult Tickets and Family Tickets (1 Adult and 1 Child) can be purchased for £10 instead of the usual cost of £20.

Tickets must be purchased in person during Ticket Office opening hours and the relevant ID must also be shown at the point of purchase.

We have signed up with Blue Light Card, who provide ID cards for relevant industry members. To apply for a Blue Light Card, visit their website – Blue Light Card
