Our recent Saturday home games against Lincoln City and Crawley Town saw the first of our grassroots teams from local clubs join us in the Fan Zone and out on the pitch for pitchside activities.
For each home game, we will be inviting a primary school and a local junior sports club, in addition to the Bury FC Boys and Girls sides, who will take part in our pre-match activities. These include a visit to our games room and a chat with one of our First Team players. As well as this, they have the chance to be flag bearers on the pitch and, as long as the weather is on our side, they will take part in activities at half-time for that game.
The Lincoln City game saw Middleton Lads and Girls U10’s join the Bury FC Boys and Girls U9’s, U10’s, U12’s, who were representing the Trust, down at the game for our match day experience. They got to meet and ask questions from our First Team player Gold Omotayo, as well as cheering on the players live on Sky Sports.
The game against Crawley Town saw Radcliffe JFC U11 Vipers and Eastward Primary School join our Bury FC Boys and Girls Adult Disability Team at the game for our match day experience. They got to meet Bury FC First Team player Tom Miller and Bury FC Women’s First Team Captain Lucy Golding for a question and answer session, followed by cheering the First Team onto the pitch for the match. This was followed by a mini-game on the pitch at half time and a penalty shoot-out.
We look forward to welcoming many more clubs, teams, and schools to the remaining games this season. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with our Community Manager - Sian Godwyn-Outten - email@example.com
